Call for Poster Abstracts

The Kansas State Nurses Association is seeking poster abstracts from Kansas nurses and student nurses for their 2026 Fall Conference & Membership Assembly in Salina, KS on October 23, 2026. This is an opportunity for you to showcase your research, evidence-based practice or quality improvement to nurses from across the state participating in the event. Topics pertaining to clinical practice, patient education, or current trends in nursing/healthcare are encouraged. Both specialty and general nursing topics will be considered.

Accepted abstracts will be featured as poster presentations during the conference. At a minimum, primary author(s) must register for and be present at the fall conference for questions/feedback during several poster viewing sessions. Any co-authors who wish to be in attendance, facilitating discussion at their poster, must also register for the conference.

  1. Abstracts should be written concisely and provide a response for each applicable element of the scoring rubric.
  2. Abstracts must be submitted by 12:00 pm Noon on July 1, 2026, using the online submission form
    • NOTE: Submission form fields reflect the scoring rubric to be used by peer reviewers
  3. Abstracts should be prepared for blind peer review by removing all identifying information (names, affiliations) from the body of the abstract
  4. Names, credentials, organization/institution affiliations must be provided for all authors in the demographic section of the online form. One primary author should be identified along with all additional authors. The primary author submits the abstract with the full consent of all co-authors. The primary author will be the contact person for all correspondence and the one invited to present at the event.

The Peer Review Team will be reviewing and evaluating each abstract for relevant content support by evidence-based practice and/or guidelines, and quality of writing in expressing key ideas. Abstracts that promote products or services will not be considered.

Abstracts accepted for poster presentation:

  • Primary author must attend/participate in the KSNA Fall Conference & Membership Assembly, at a minimum. Co-authors are encouraged to attend, but must register for the conference if they choose to do so.
  • All authors in attendance must register for the conference, be available during poster display hours at the event, and are responsible for covering their own hotel, travel and other related expenses.
  • Please note, the KSNA Fall Conference will be held in Salina, Kansas this year.

Primary Authors will be notified by August 8, 2026 if their abstract has been accepted for poster presentation. All decisions on abstract acceptance are final.

If an abstract is selected the author(s) must do the following:

  • Register for the Fall Conference
    • A registration link will be provided within the acceptance notification, along with other details to prepare the author for their participation in the conference.
