The KSNA Board evaluated participation, leadership, activity and membership engagement from KSNA regions.  They reviewed structure of other nursing associations and provided an opportunity for member feedback at the KSNA Membership Assembly in November 2024.  After much discussion and a vote of members in attendance it was decided to put the current region structure on hold for one year and pilot Mutual Interest Groups (MIGs).

Instead of our traditional regional structure, we are introducing Mutual Interest Groups—a new approach designed to connect members based on shared priorities and professional interests rather than geographic location.

This shift aims to provide a more dynamic and flexible way for members to connect around shared priorities, collaborate on key topics, contribute to meaningful discussions that impact our profession and ensure that our organization remains responsive to the evolving needs of our members. By focusing on the most pressing issues and trends in nursing , key topics and areas of interest, we hope to create more meaningful opportunities for involvement and impact.

This pilot initiative is an opportunity to test a new way of working together, and we value your input as we explore this new approach.

Thank you for being a valued part of KSNA—your engagement is essential to our success!
